Description
ACL Screws (Titanium):
Titanium ACL screws are implants used in Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery to fix grafts (like hamstring or patellar tendon) inside the bone tunnels. They are preferred because titanium is biocompatible, strong, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant.
🔹 Types of ACL Titanium Screws:
1. Interference Screws
Used to secure the graft inside the femoral or tibial tunnel.
Designed with special threads for maximum fixation.
Can be cannulated (hollow) or solid.
2. Cannulated Screws
Placed over a guide wire for accurate positioning.
3. Headless / Fully Threaded Screws
Reduce irritation to surrounding tissues.
🔹 Features:
Made of medical-grade titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V).
Available in multiple diameters (6 mm to 12 mm) and lengths (20 mm to 35 mm).
Radiolucent with minimal MRI interference.
High pull-out strength for secure graft fixation.
🔹 Advantages:
Excellent biocompatibility (less chance of rejection).
Long-term durability without degradation.
Strong fixation for early mobilization.
